All employers are required to notify OSHA when an employee is killed on the job or suffers a work-related hospitalization, amputation, or loss of an eye.

A fatality must be reported within 8 hours.  An in-patient hospitalization, amputation, or eye loss must be reported within 24 hours.  Reporting can be completed by phone 1-800-321-6742 (OSHA) or online. (https://www.osha.gov/pls/ser/serform.html).

You must report work-related accidents immediately to ensure proper delivery of benefits. Delay in these benefits may expose both you and RMS to penalties and attorney fees.

Appropriate and accurate benefits are owed to an injured employee once their claim is determined to be compensable.

Timely reporting allows us to conduct a prompt investigation. Prompt reporting also enables us to handle the claim from the beginning, which often saves employers money. Once our investigation is complete, we pay the claims we owe and defend the claims not owed under workers’ compensation. Timely reporting of every work-related accident saves you money!
